Maundy Manna was established in 1995. It began life at the top of Peel Street and since day one has been staffed by volunteers. We pride ourselves on our policy of non-paid staff.

Approximately 7 years ago. The premises were changed to 22-24 Abbey Street and the shop continues to flourish there.

The present management team of three has been in place for just over four years and together with ten volunteers have taken the establishment towards creating a unique and enjoyable shopping experience.

Throughout we have been supported by the generous people of Hyndburn and the surrounding area, without whose bounty we could not survive.

Two years ago we opened our furniture store at 41-43 Abbey Street. Once more we have been overwhelmed by the open handed generosity of our supporters.

The furniture store collects and delivers furniture using the Maundy van. Both shop and van are manned by a mix of volunteers and ‘Boots Strap’ workers who attend for a thirteen week period with the aim of re-introducing them to the workplace.

The furniture store has a full-time Manager and the van routes are coordinated by the Warehouse Manager. Diesel, servicing and repairs are funded via shop takings.

As well as selling a diversity of excellent goods at bargain prices, our shops provide free goods for those in need. Clothes, shoes, fridges, beds and other furniture and household goods are donated to the needy on a daily basis. Without the interest and compassion of our benefactors this would not be possible.

Thank you for your support.
